Ayaan Institute of Medical Sciences, Teaching Hospital and Research Centre (AIMS), Kanaka Mamidi is a distinguished private medical institution established in 2018 by Dr. Mohammed Vizarath Rasool Khan under the Ayaan Educational Society. Located in Kanaka Mamidi Village, Moinabad Mandal, Ranga Reddy District, Telangana, AIMS is one of the few Muslim Minority Co-Education medical colleges in the state — dedicated to providing quality medical education to students from the minority community across Telangana and all states of India. The college is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, with its initial Letter of Permission (LOP) granted on 27/03/2018, and annual renewal permissions granted through AY 2024-25. It is affiliated with Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal, for academic and examination purposes. Dean and Principal of AIMS is Dr. Mogili Mohan Rao. The college offers an annual MBBS intake of 150 seats distributed as: Category A (Competent Authority / Government Quota) – 60% (90 seats) at Rs.60,000/year; Category B (Management Quota) – 25% (37 seats) at Rs.12,00,000/year; and Category C (NRI Quota) – 15% (23 seats) at Rs.24,00,000/year. This 60:25:15 seat split is specific to Muslim Minority colleges in Telangana (as opposed to the 50:35:15 split for non-minority private colleges), reflecting Ayaan's minority institution status. The campus of AIMS spans approximately 25 to 33 acres in the serene green environs of Kanaka Mamidi, Moinabad. The campus houses all pre-clinical and para-clinical departments, lecture halls (3 in the hospital building with 600 seating capacity), examination halls, library, and residential facilities. The medical college library has an area of 2,520 square metres with 3,114 books, 18 Indian journals, and 7 foreign journals, and 4 separate reading rooms with a combined seating capacity of 330 persons. The attached Ayaan Teaching Hospital is a 300-bed multi-specialty hospital currently expandable to 700 beds within 3 years. The hospital building is spread over 1,80,000 square metres and treats approximately 800+ outpatients daily. It has 7 operation theatres (5 major and 2 minor OTs), performing an average of 8 major and 12 minor operations per day. The hospital provides all types of emergency, casualty, and super-specialty services round the clock 24x7. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Telangana state government enlisted the support of Ayaan Hospital, reflecting its established role in the regional healthcare ecosystem. The hostel facilities at AIMS are located within the college campus. The hostel operates on a shared basis with 3 persons per room. There are 32 rooms for boys and 31 rooms for girls. The campus is well-connected by road transport from every corner of Hyderabad city. The nearest railway station is Nampally, approximately 30 km away (50 minutes), and the nearest airport is Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, 26 km away (35 minutes). Hyderabad city is approximately 26 km from the college (45 minutes). The MBBS program at AIMS follows the NMC-mandated Competency Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum of 4.5 years of academic study followed by 1 year of compulsory rotating medical internship (CRMI), totalling 5.5 years. During the internship, students receive a monthly stipend as per Telangana state government norms. After internship completion, MBBS graduates must complete compulsory rural service. Non-compliance requires payment of a bond penalty before medical council registration or PG admission. For PG (MD/MS), AIMS offers programs in various specialties, with admission through NEET-PG scores via KNRUHS Telangana centralized PG counselling. Admission is conducted in multiple rounds with sliding allowed in Telangana in all rounds up to Mop-Up. During NEET 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 counselling, 19 candidates in total received allotment at Ayaan Medical College, reflecting the college's gradual growth in student intake. The college's admission process strictly follows KNRUHS guidelines with all admissions being merit-based on NEET scores — no direct admission is permitted.
