Banas Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI), Palanpur, is a private medical college established in May 2018 under the Government Self-Finance Institute (PPP Model) framework in Gujarat. It is managed by the Galbabhai Nanjibhai Patel Charitable Trust — founded by Banas Dairy, the largest dairy cooperative in Asia. Inaugurated on 22 September 2018 by the then Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister of Gujarat, Shri Nitin Patel, BMCRI is affiliated to Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan, and is approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The institute initially started with 150 MBBS seats, which were enhanced to 200 seats in 2019. Spread across a sprawling 28.7-acre campus with lush green cover in the heart of Palanpur, Banaskantha district, the campus houses the college, administrative offices, and a 10-floor hostel building. The institute features spacious air-conditioned classrooms, well-equipped departmental laboratories, a large digital library, auditorium, and a 650-bedded multi-specialty teaching hospital — among the largest hospitals in Palanpur. Clinical training is conducted through the college-associated hospital as well as Civil Hospital, Palanpur, with bus transportation provided. BMCRI follows the NMC-mandated Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum. Steps: (1) NEET UG registration and examination; (2) Purchase PIN from ACPUGMEC portal (₹500 + ₹10,000 refundable security deposit); (3) Online registration on medadmgujarat.org with 5-digit PIN, 14-digit PIN, email, mobile, NEET roll number; (4) Document verification at designated ACPUGMEC Help Centre (appointment-based); (5) Merit list publication; (6) Online choice-filling for preferred colleges (Mock Round first, then actual Round 1, Round 2, Mop-up Round, Stray Vacancy Round); (7) Seat allotment notification; (8) Report to BMCRI with all documents and fee payment. IMPORTANT: BMCRI officially states there is NO management quota and no direct admission after last counselling round. If any person demands money for admission, report to Vigilance Cell of Government of Gujarat. Admission is purely merit-based via NEET and ACPUGMEC counselling. BMCRI Palanpur has a 650-bedded multi-specialty teaching hospital with 24 wards, 22-bed ICU, 3 labour rooms, blood bank, eye bank, burns unit, and 24/7 emergency services. Additionally, students receive clinical training at Civil Hospital, Palanpur, for additional patient exposure. The college provides bus transportation from the hostel and campus to Civil Hospital for daily clinical postings. The hospital is among the largest hospitals in Palanpur.

BMCRI Palanpur has 200 MBBS seats per year (200 since 2019, increased from original 150 in 2018). There is STRICTLY NO management quota at BMCRI. As explicitly stated on the official website (bmcri.co.in): 'There is no management quota. Even after last counseling, if seat is vacant, admission is not given by this institute.' The seat split is: 85% State SFI Quota (170 seats) + 15% NRI Quota (30 seats).

Based on 2024 ACPUGMEC Gujarat counselling data, the last round closing rank for General (Open) category under Home State (HS) quota was 87,030. Round 1 opening rank was 85,170. OBC/SEBC last round closing rank: 1,01,723. SC last round closing rank: 1,71,215. Trend over years (General HS last round): 2022 – 2,87,638; 2023 – 99,498; 2024 – 87,030 – showing significant improvement each year. Non-Gujarat students can only apply under NRI quota.

The MBBS fee under the SFI (State Quota) is ₹7,65,000 per year, totalling approximately ₹34,42,500 for the entire 4.5-year MBBS course. This makes it one of the more affordable private medical college options in Gujarat. For the NRI Quota (15% seats), the fee is approximately ₹15,75,000 per year (~₹70.87 Lakhs total).
