Basava Academy of Engineering (BAE), Bangalore, is a private co-educational engineering institution established in 2002 under the flagship of Sri Belimatha Maha Samsthana Socio Cultural and Education Trust. The trust, founded in 1975 by Sree Sree Charamurthy Shivarudra Mahaswamiji, was created with a dedicated focus on providing quality education to students from poor and underprivileged backgrounds — a mission that continues to define the institution's ethos today. Located on Gangondanahalli Main Road, near Peenya Dasarahalli in North Bangalore, the college occupies a 10-acre campus. Its location is particularly advantageous — it sits adjacent to Asia's largest small and medium enterprises industrial hub, the Peenya Industrial Estate, giving students unique access to industry exposure, internships, and entrepreneurship opportunities. The institution is approved by AICTE, recognized by the Government of Karnataka, and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi. The college offers four-year B.E. programs in four engineering disciplines: Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering — with a total AICTE-sanctioned intake of 240 seats (60 per branch). Admissions are conducted through KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) and management quota. Minimum eligibility is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with at least 45% aggregate marks.
