Set up in 1999 by the Shri Banarsidas Chandiwala Sewa Smarak Trust Society — a charitable body active in health and education since 1952 — the Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Information Technology (BCIIT) is a private computer applications institute situated at Chandiwala Estate, Kalkaji, in South Delhi. The institute is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) and approved by AICTE. Its South Delhi location, close to the Nehru Place hardware market and the Okhla software hub, is positioned as an advantage for its IT-focused programmes. BCIIT runs a 3-year BCA programme and a 2-year MCA programme, both admitted through GGSIPU's centralized counselling on the basis of national/university entrance scores. The campus has air-conditioned classrooms, four computer labs shared across the two programmes, a library, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
