College of Engineering & Rural Technology (CERT), Meerut, is a premier private engineering institution established in 1999 under the Chitragupt Social Welfare & Educational Society. Situated on NH-58 (Delhi–Haridwar Highway) at Partapur Bypass Road, Meerut, the college enjoys excellent connectivity to Delhi NCR, Haridwar, and other major cities of Uttar Pradesh. CERT is affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow, for its B.Tech, MBA, and M.Tech programs, and with the Board of Technical Education (BTE), Uttar Pradesh, for its Diploma/Polytechnic programs. The institution is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and holds NBA (National Board of Accreditation) accreditation for select programs. CERT's 12-acre campus features a comprehensive academic and recreational infrastructure. The college houses specialized laboratories for each engineering department, a central library with over 50,000 books covering engineering and management subjects along with journals and reference books, separate hostels for boys and girls in a pollution-free environment, computer labs, sports grounds, a cafeteria, and a bus facility connecting students from across Meerut and surrounding regions. Academically, CERT offers B.Tech programs in Computer Science & Engineering (60 seats), Civil Engineering (30 seats), Electronics & Communication Engineering (30 seats), and Mechanical Engineering (30 seats) — totalling 150 B.Tech seats per year. MBA is offered with 60 seats per year. Polytechnic/Diploma programs are offered in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electronics Engineering (60 seats each). M.Tech is available in Machine Design & Robotics (ME), and Computer Science & Engineering (CSE). The departments operating at CERT include CSE, IT, Civil Engineering, ECE, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Science & Humanities, and Business Studies. CERT has been recognized by various Government departments including DST (Department of Science & Technology), New & Renewable Energy Ministry, Micro/Small/Medium Enterprises (MSME) Ministry, and AICTE — indicating its active research and development engagement beyond academics. The Training and Placement Cell at CERT actively invites companies for campus recruitment. As per Shiksha student reviews (2024), about 70% of students get placed, with the average package being approximately Rs.6 LPA, and the highest package reaching Rs.12 LPA. Top recruiting companies include HCL, Amazon, Flipkart, Tech Mahindra, Okaya Infocom, and others. For internships, students have been placed at Tech Mahindra, Zintech Pvt. Ltd., Cisco, Tata, Amazon, and Flipkart. CERT also offers merit-based scholarships: students obtaining 85% aggregate consistently through all 8 semesters (with 80% each semester) receive a scholarship of Rs.6,000 per annum. Additionally, fee waiver schemes exist — students securing above 85% aggregate without any backlogs can receive a full tuition fee refund; students between 65–70% without backlogs get 50% tuition fee refund. Not just academic — CERT actively conducts industrial visits, seminars, and workshops for students. Recent activities include an HCL Technologies industrial visit (November 2024), an Okaya Infocom campus drive (October 2024), and a Financial Management seminar (October 2024).
