Often called the 'Sir Syed of Deccan', Dr. Vizarath Rasool Khan devoted his life to bringing quality education to minority and underprivileged communities, and the medical college stands as one of his lasting legacies. The institution holds a Minority Status Certificate issued by the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions (NCMEI), Government of India, vide no. 1238/2010 dated 5/10/2010, making it a Muslim Minority Institution. Admissions follow rules applicable to minority institutions, as governed by the Telangana State Government from time to time. The college is presently under the Deanship of Dr. Uzma Nasreen Khan. The college is affiliated with the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal, Telangana, and is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), New Delhi. The campus of Dr. VRK Women's Medical College is spread across 26 acres and is located opposite to the Mruguvani National Deer Park — one of the most serene and green settings for any medical college in Hyderabad. It is located approximately 16 km from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, 22 km from Hyderabad Railway Station, and is well-connected to the Nehru Outer Ring Road (ORR). The campus houses the medical college building, teaching hospital, student hostels, staff quarters, and all ancillary buildings within a unitary campus. The hospital has been functional since 2006, well before the college's establishment, and caters to surrounding villages as well as patients from distant locations. The OPD operates from 9 AM to 12 PM daily, with attendance of 350+ patients. The hospital provides all types of emergency, casualty, and super-specialty services around the clock 24×7.
