ESIC Medical College & PGIMSR (Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences and Research) & Model Hospital, Rajajinagar, Bangalore is a centrally funded government medical institution established in 2012 under the administrative control of the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), a statutory body under the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India (ESI Act No. 34 of 1948). The college is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru and is approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC). It is the only ESIC Medical College in Karnataka and is one of 20 ESIC medical colleges nationally, collectively offering 1,830 MBBS seats across India. Situated in the heart of Bengaluru city at 3rd Block, Rajajinagar, the college occupies a 15-acre, lush green, eco-friendly campus with good ventilation and peaceful surroundings. The college offers MBBS (150 seats) and MD/MS postgraduate programmes across 16+ specialties. The attached ESIC Model Hospital, Rajajinagar is a 750+ bedded multi-specialty tertiary care teaching hospital (with 500 sanctioned ESIC beds plus additional capacity) that serves both insured persons (IP beneficiaries) and non-insured (general) patients — a unique dual-service model among government hospitals. The hospital receives 500–600 OPD patients daily and over 1,000 on peak days, running 24x7 Casualty, ICU (MICU, NICU, SICU — 5 beds each), OPDs in all specialties, 16-slice CT Scan, 2 USG machines, 6 X-Ray machines (including Digital X-Ray), centralized lab (Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology), centralized pharmacy, Blood Bank, and immunization programmes at industries and rural areas. The campus houses modern lecture halls (capacity 150 students), well-equipped departmental laboratories, a central digital library with Indian and foreign journals, departmental museums, a Medical Education Unit (MEU), skill labs, seminar halls, and separate hostels for boys and girls.
