Gandhi Medical College (GMC), Secunderabad, is one of the most prestigious government medical institutions in Telangana, established in 1954 and named in honour of Mahatma Gandhi. Its history predates the college itself — rooted in 1851 when it was founded as a military infirmary of just 3 wards in Secunderabad Cantonment.
