Government Dharmapuri Medical College is a fully government-funded institution operated by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Tamil Nadu. Foundation stone was laid by then-Deputy CM M.K. Stalin on 19 January 2010. NMC-recognized with 5-year continuity recognition up to February 2028.

GDMC has 100 MBBS seats (85 TN state quota + 15 AIQ) and 41 PG (MD/MS) seats across 7 specializations: General Medicine, Surgery, OBG, Paediatrics, Anaesthesia, Ophthalmology, and Emergency Medicine.

Annual tuition fee (1st year) is approximately Rs. 18,073, with total MBBS cost estimated at around Rs. 1.2 lakhs — making it one of the most affordable MBBS programs in India. PG fee is approximately Rs. 76,320 per year for 3 years.
