About Government Medical College, Badaun
Government Medical College, Badaun (GMC Badaun) is a government medical college established in 2019 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Located on a lush green 100-acre campus at Gunera Wazidpur, Sirsauli, Badaun – 243601, in the Rohilkhand region, the college is affiliated with Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, and recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Offering 100 MBBS seats annually, GMC Badaun is the only medical college in Badaun district. The attached 450-bed government multi-specialty hospital serves 1,400+ outpatients daily, providing comprehensive clinical training across all major departments. The campus houses the main medical college building, teaching hospital, doctors' and residents' hostels, boys and girls hostels, playgrounds, and a wide range of supporting facilities. It features spacious gallery-type lecture halls, examination halls, demonstration rooms, fully equipped clinical laboratories, departmental museums, an auditorium, and a digital library with a large collection of medical books and national and international journals. PG courses are in development — MD in Community Medicine is currently available, with more specialties expected. GMC Badaun played a crucial role during COVID-19 and has since upgraded its facilities with a Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) plant, CT scan, and MRI. It also offers three paramedical Diploma programmes. Intern stipend: ₹17,000–₹20,000/month.
