Government Medical College, Dindigul (GMCD), established as a Medical College in March 2021 (healthcare facility heritage since 1923 when a dispensary was established), is located at Nallampatti Road, Adiyanoothu Village, Dindigul, Tamil Nadu. Affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University and recognized by NMC, it offers 150 MBBS seats, making it one of the larger new government medical colleges. The first MBBS batch was admitted in February 2022 and the hospital grew to 690+ beds with multi-specialty facilities. The teaching hospital has trauma care, radiology, burns unit, Cancer Detection and Early Oncology Centre (CEONC), and specialized wards. Academic infrastructure includes spacious lecture halls, demonstration rooms, practical labs, and a digital library.
