Government Medical College, Kannauj (GMC Kannauj), also known as Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Medical College, Kannauj, is one of the older government medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh, established in 2012. Located on a lush green 103.43-acre campus on Tirwa Road, 15 km from Kannauj city, the college is currently affiliated with Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU), Lucknow (previously KGMU Lucknow), and recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC). With 100 MBBS seats and MD/MS PG courses (50% AIQ + 50% UP State Quota), GMC Kannauj provides quality medical education to aspirants from the fragrance-capital Kannauj and the Agra-Lucknow belt of Uttar Pradesh. The attached 550-bed government teaching hospital has 2,000+ OPD patients daily — one of the highest OPD loads among comparable UP government colleges. Multiple MBBS batches (2012–2024) are enrolled; first batch alumni now pursuing PG across India.
