Government Medical College, Nandyal (also known as Dr. YSR Government Medical College, Nandyal) is a new government medical institution established in 2023 under the AP Government's flagship 'Nadu-Nedu' programme (G.O.MS.No. 155, dated 28-06-2022) for revitalization of healthcare services across Andhra Pradesh. Located at Noonepalli, Nandyala – 518501, the college is affiliated with Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences (YSRUHS), Vijayawada and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) with a Letter of Permission (LOP) granted on 04/05/2023. It offers 150 MBBS seats annually. The attached teaching hospital is Government General Hospital (GGH), Nandyal — a 420-bed hospital registered on 06/07/1999 with 30 emergency beds, and handling over 35,000 outpatients and 3,000+ inpatients per month.
