About Government Medical College, Satna
Government Medical College, Satna, is one of the newest government medical institutions in Madhya Pradesh, inaugurated on 24 February 2023 in the presence of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah and Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Located near Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, Kripalpur, Satna, the college is affiliated with Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University (MPMSU), Jabalpur, and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC). It offers 150 MBBS seats annually, with 23 under All India Quota and 127 under MP State Quota. The 30–43-acre campus provides modern academic infrastructure including state-of-the-art classrooms with audio-visual aids, well-equipped laboratories for Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Pathology, a spacious library, and separate hostels for boys, girls, and resident doctors with Wi-Fi, 24x7 security, and sports facilities. The attached multi-specialty teaching hospital has 500–750+ beds with ICU, NICU, PICU, 24x7 emergency, advanced diagnostic labs, and serves the Satna and Vindhya region population. Placement Highlights 2024
GMC Satna inaugurated in February 2023 and admitted its first MBBS batch shortly thereafter. The first batch is expected to complete MBBS and internship by 2028–29. Graduates will pursue NEET-PG for postgraduate specialisation. After completing MBBS and internship, graduates must serve 1 year in rural/government health services in Madhya Pradesh. Non-compliance penalty: ₹10 lakh (General/EWS); ₹5 lakh (SC/ST/OBC). Scholarship holders: 2-year bond with ₹10 lakh penalty.
Government Medical College, Satna was inaugurated on 24 February 2023 in the presence of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. It is one of the newest government medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh, affiliated with MPMSU Jabalpur and approved by NMC.
GMC Satna offers 150 MBBS seats per year. Of these, 23 are under All India Quota (AIQ via MCC) and 127 under MP State Quota (via DME Madhya Pradesh). Being a government college, there are no management or NRI quota seats.
