Government Medical College, Tonk (GMC Tonk) is among the newest medical institutions in Rajasthan, receiving NMC Letter of Permission (LOP) on 2 September 2025 for 50 MBBS seats for AY 2025-26. Located in Tonk, approximately 100 km from Jaipur with good connectivity, the college is affiliated with Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS), Jaipur. GMC Tonk was established as part of the Rajasthan government's broader effort to expand medical education infrastructure and address the shortage of healthcare professionals in underserved districts. The college is attached to the upgraded Government District Hospital, Tonk, which meets NMC norms with modern operation theatres, ICU facilities, OPD/IPD services, and emergency care.
