About Government Raza Post Graduate College, Rampur

Official website

Government Raza Post Graduate College, Rampur, is housed in Khusro Bagh Palace, popularly known as the Nawab's Summer Palace, and is the oldest government seat of higher education in Uttar Pradesh. It stands in tranquil surroundings and is regarded as one of the most elegant monuments of Indo-European architecture in north India. The last ruling Nawab of Rampur State, Sir Syed Raza Ali Khan, founder of the college, donated the entire building and campus of Khusro Bagh Palace to the institution, along with the furniture of the dissolved Rampur State Constituent Assembly. The college came into existence on 16th July 1949 at state expense, with its maiden academic session starting on 2nd September 1949. Postgraduate classes began here during 1968-69. The college runs UG, PG and Ph.D. programmes in Arts, Science and Commerce, and also offers a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme recognised by NCTE and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Retail. Exact category-wise and semester-wise fee break-ups are published in the official Fee Structure document on the college website. Admission to UG and PG courses is through an online registration and merit-list based counselling process conducted directly by the college each academic session (2026-27 admissions opened 19-05-2026 for UG and later for PG), with successive merit lists released as seats are filled.
