Government Siddhartha Medical College (Govt. SMC Vijayawada), established in 1980, is one of Andhra Pradesh's premier government medical institutions. Located beside Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences at Gunadala, Vijayawada – 520008. Principal: Dr. A. Yedukondala Rao MD, DNB. The college offers MBBS (175 seats), MD/MS, DM/MCH Super-Specialty, Nursing, and Paramedical programmes. Teaching hospitals: New GGH Gunadala, Old GGH Hanuman Pet, YVC Oncology Wing (China Kakani), UPHC Rajiv Nagar, and Rural PHC Peda Avutapalli. Research units include Multi-Disciplinary Research Unit (MRU) and VRDL/CCMB. Vision: To make Govt. SMC a Centre of Excellence.
