Required Entrance Exams

NEET UG

Eligibility Criteria
10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Botany-Zoology and English; minimum 50% marks (General/EWS); 40% for SC/ST/OBC; NEET UG qualified; minimum age 17 years as on 31st December of the admission year
Admission Process
All MBBS admissions — State Quota, Management Quota, and NRI Quota — are conducted through centralised counselling by West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) at wbmcc.nic.in. No provisions for direct admission — all seats are allocated strictly through this counselling process. AIQ seats (15% of State Quota): MCC counselling at mcc.nic.in. Rounds: Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up, Stray Vacancy. WB State Quota (85% of State Quota): WBMCC counselling — multiple rounds. WB nativity/domicile is required for State Quota seats. Management Quota: also through WBMCC centralized counselling (not direct/capitation). Documents required: Transfer Certificate, 10th & 12th mark sheets and passing certificates, NEET UG scorecard and admit card, Caste Certificate (if applicable), EWS Certificate (if applicable), Domicile/Nativity Certificate, Aadhar Card, PAN Card (candidate + parent/guardian), minimum 5 passport-sized photographs.

Important Notice

Compulsory service bond applicable as per WB Health Department norms after internship completion. Internship stipend: approximately ₹15,900/month (WB government rate). ICARE had a regulatory gap in 2017-18 and 2018-19 (not permitted for admissions) but has been regularized since 2019-20 and received seat increase approval in 2023-24. Prospective students are advised to always verify the latest NMC approval status before admission.
