Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kalyani (IIIT Kalyani or IIITK) is a premier Institute of National Importance established on May 21, 2014, under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model by the Government of India, the Government of West Bengal, and founding industry partners – Coal India Ltd., Rolta Foundation, and WEBEL. Conferred with the Institute of National Importance status in 2017, the institute provides premium industry-aligned curriculum based on NEP-2020 guidelines. Currently operating from its functional transit campus at Webel IT Park, its highly advanced permanent 50-acre campus is nearing full completion along the Kalyani Expressway. Partnered with regional corporate leaders and featuring visiting elite faculty from IIT Kharagpur and IIEST Shibpur, the institute cultivates an exceptional environment for computing and electronics studies, yielding consistently stellar placement records with top-tier technology firms.

The fee at IIIT Kalyani is the same for all students regardless of category – there is NO tuition fee waiver for SC/ST or any other category. The per-semester tuition fee is ₹1,10,000 (FY 2025-26). Total B.Tech tuition for 4 years is approximately ₹8.80 Lakhs. The total programme cost including hostel and other charges is approximately ₹12.04 Lakhs. Students are encouraged to apply for NSP and Swami Vivekananda Scholarship through state/central government portals.
