Admission Process at IITM Janakpuri

  1. Register on the GGSIPU / institute admission portal
  2. Appear for CET or submit a valid CUET score
  3. Merit list preparation based on the relevant test score
  4. Choice filling and seat allotment through counselling rounds
  5. Document verification at the institute
  6. Fee payment and reporting

For MBA, admission follows a tiered process: candidates are first admitted on CAT merit; if seats remain vacant, counselling proceeds on CMAT merit; and if seats are still vacant after exhausting both, GGSIPU conducts its own CET for the remaining seats. For MCA, a similar tiered structure applies: NIMCET merit is considered first, followed by GGSIPU's own CET for any seats remaining vacant, and finally CUET merit for any seats still unfilled.

Eligibility for undergraduate programmes is a 10+2 pass with a minimum of 45-50% aggregate marks depending on the specific programme, with BCA additionally requiring Mathematics or Computer Science as a compulsory Class 12 subject. MBA requires a bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks, and MCA requires a BCA/B.Sc or equivalent degree with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved categories). SC/ST candidates receive a 5% relaxation in the minimum qualifying percentage across programmes.

About 85% of seats across programmes are reserved for Delhi-domicile candidates, with a separate 15% outside-Delhi quota merit list for candidates from outside Delhi. This split is an important factor for out-of-state applicants to weigh, since it meaningfully narrows the effective seat pool available to them compared to Delhi-domicile candidates.

Required documents typically include Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and passing certificates, a transfer certificate from the last attended institution, category certificates where applicable, entrance exam scorecards (CET/CUET/CAT/CMAT/NIMCET as relevant to the programme), Aadhaar or another valid photo ID, and passport-size photographs. Original documents are generally submitted at the time of admission for verification and are retained by the institute for the duration of the programme, per common practice at GGSIPU-affiliated institutes, though candidates should confirm the exact checklist for their specific programme and admission cycle directly with the institute.

Full eligibility criteria and the document checklist are available on the admission process page.
