Rankings, Accreditations and Recognition
International Accreditations
The EQUIS accreditation board conferred accreditation on the institute on December 10, 2019, and the institute has since announced EQUIS reaccreditation. It also reports AMBA reaccreditation for five years, the maximum possible period, which marks its third consecutive AMBA reaccreditation. With this announcement the institute stated that all of its MBA programmes are now AMBA accredited. These accreditations are valuable for students who plan to work or study internationally.
Global Rankings
In the Financial Times Global MBA Rankings 2025, the institute's one-year executive programme rose from rank 89 in 2023 to rank 69, and the institute was ranked fourth among the IIMs in that listing. The Director, Prof. Himanshu Rai, attributed the improvement to factors such as the Triple Crown accreditation and the institute's focus on pedagogy, faculty and alumni. Rankings of this kind are published for specific programmes, so applicants should check which programme is being ranked.
National Rankings
In the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025, IIM Indore was ranked 8th in the management category, the same position it was reported to hold in 2024 and 2023, after 7th in 2022. The institute has also reported being ranked fifth in 2019, and its annual report for 2021-22 records a fourth rank in India and third among the IIMs in the management category. Rankings change every year, so applicants should consult the latest NIRF listing on the official NIRF website before taking a decision, and should remember that NIRF ranks the institution as a whole and not an individual programme.
