Admission Process
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for reserved categories) from a recognised university. Final-year students awaiting results may apply provisionally, subject to submission of final marks and degree certificates by stipulated deadlines.
Shortlisting, WAT and Personal Interview
IIM Ranchi's shortlisting criteria factor in CAT percentile alongside class X, XII, and graduation marks. For the 2025 cycle, the general category cutoff was around 95.25 overall percentile, with sectional cutoffs of 75 percentile. Shortlisted candidates undergo a Written Ability Test and Personal Interview, with final offers made through a Consolidated Merit List (CML).
Joint Admission Process (JAP)
From 2026, IIM Ranchi no longer participates in the Common Admission Process (CAP) used by several other IIMs, and instead manages its MBA selections through a Joint Admission Process (JAP) alongside IIM Raipur, IIM Trichy, and IIM Kashipur.
