The Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition (IHM Meerut) was established in 1987 as an autonomous body registered as an Educational Society under the Societies Act 1860. IHM Meerut was the first hotel management institute in North India to receive AICTE approval, as early as 1993. Located in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh — a city close to New Delhi and well-connected by road and rail — the institute has two campuses: the main 12.5-acre Daurala campus on NH-58 (Delhi-Dehradun Highway) and the older 2.5-acre Mall Road campus in Meerut Cantt. The Daurala campus features approximately 2.25 lakh sq.ft. of covered area including academic and administrative blocks, fully-equipped laboratories, two restaurants, auditorium, separate boy and girl hostels, staff quarters, guest house, sports grounds and more. IHM Meerut has been consistently ranked No. 1 Private Hotel Management Institute in Uttar Pradesh and No. 1 in North India since 2009 by GHRDC. It was awarded 'Top Hotel Management Institute of India' at CSR Awards since 2012 and received 'No. 1 Hotel Management Institute of North India' by Hon'ble Vice President of India Shri Venkaiah Naidu at an event organized by Jagran Prakashan Group. Two Training Restaurants
Two fully operational training restaurants on campus where students get live hands-on service and food production experience under faculty supervision.
Academic Block & Teaching Kitchens
State-of-the-art academic block at Daurala campus with ~2.25 lakh sq.ft. covered area, fully-equipped food production and F&B service training labs, bakery lab, front office lab, and housekeeping labs meeting international hospitality standards.
Hostel
Separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. Boys hostel at Daurala campus; girls hostel in downtown Meerut with free transport to institute. Rooms equipped with bed, study table, chair, cupboard, running hot & cold water, RO filtered drinking water, generator and inverter backup. Mess accommodates 250 persons at a time.
Transportation
Fleet of institute buses for compulsory commute of day boarders from Meerut city to campus. Two-wheelers on highway are prohibited. Buses also used for industrial tours and picnics.

Yes, it is mandatory for all first-year male students to stay in the hostel. It is also mandatory for all female students (except those whose parents reside in Meerut) to stay in the hostel for the entire duration of their study.
