Affiliated with West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS), Kolkata, and recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC), JGMCH offers 100 MBBS seats annually, with the first MBBS batch admitted in the 2022-23 academic session. JGMCH is the only medical college in Jalpaiguri (MBBSCouncil confirmed: 'No other medical colleges in Jalpaiguri'). The attached Jalpaiguri District Hospital is one of the largest and most critical healthcare facilities in the Jalpaiguri district, serving as the primary tertiary referral centre for the region including areas near the Darjeeling, Sikkim, and Bhutan border.
