Admission to JK Lakshmipat University is managed entirely by the university itself rather than through a centralised, state-level counselling body, which is an important distinction for applicants coming from states where engineering and design admissions typically run through bodies such as JAC or JoSAA. For the B.Tech programme, candidates need a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in Class XII, along with at least 50% in Mathematics specifically; candidates scoring between 50% and 55% in Maths can still qualify if they meet a Class X Maths threshold of 60% or achieve a 60 percentile in the Mathematics section of JEE Main. The process itself involves applying online at the university's admissions portal with a JEE Main score, or an eligible Class XII or CUET score for scholarship evaluation, followed by document verification, an offer of admission, fee payment and campus reporting.

Admission Process at JK Lakshmipat University, Jaipur

For the B.Des programme, applicants need a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Class XII, including English and three subjects of their choice, and are admitted either by appearing for the JK Design Entrance Test (JK-DET) followed by a portfolio round, or by submitting a qualifying score from NID, NIFT or UCEED. The BBA programmes — covering the General, Fintech, Honours and KPMG in India Certification tracks — are more accessible on paper, requiring a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Class XII (60% specifically for the KPMG track), with admission decided through merit evaluation on Class XII or CUET scores rather than a mandatory national entrance exam.

Postgraduate admission to the M.Tech programme is open to candidates holding a B.Tech/B.E., MCA or relevant M.Sc. degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or 6.0 CGPA, and applicants can be admitted either with a valid GATE score or by appearing for JKLU's own PG entrance process and interview; GATE-qualified candidates who join are eligible for a Rs. 12,400 monthly Teaching Assistantship. PhD admission follows either a post-Master's route, requiring a minimum of 55% marks or 5.5 CGPA, or a direct post-Bachelor's route for candidates with a strong B.Tech/B.E. record or at least 10 years of relevant industry experience, and involves a written test and interview conducted by the university.

Applicants should note that JKLU does not publish a centralised cutoff or rank list the way state counselling authorities do, since admission is based on meeting the university's own eligibility bar combined with a merit-based scholarship evaluation on the JEE Main percentile, Class XII marks, or CUET score, depending on the programme. Because scholarship value can meaningfully affect the final fee payable, applicants are advised to review the for their intended programme alongside the admission eligibility before submitting their application.
