The BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) course at JSSAMC is of 5.5 years duration, comprising 4.5 years of academic study across four professional years and a mandatory one-year compulsory rotating internship.

The total academic fee for the BAMS course is approximately INR 12.5 Lakhs for the entire programme, with an annual fee of INR 2,50,000 as per the AY 2025-26 fee structure. Additionally, hostel fees are approximately INR 85,700 per year.

JSS Ayurveda Medical College offers 100 seats annually for the BAMS programme. At the postgraduate level, the total intake across all 10 MD (Ayurveda) specializations is 53 seats.

Admission to the BAMS programme at JSSAMC is based on NEET UG (AYUSH) scores. Candidates must qualify the NEET exam with a minimum of the 50th percentile for General category and 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC candidates. Counselling is conducted through the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) and RGUHS.
