About Jubilee Mission Medical College & Research Institute, Thrissur
Jubilee Mission Medical College & Research Institute (JMMCRI), Thrissur, is a distinguished private Christian minority medical institution located in the heart of Thrissur, Kerala's cultural capital. The institution traces its roots to 17 December 1951, when the Bishop Alapatt Jubilee Memorial Hospital was founded as a small dispensary under the Catholic Archdiocese of Thrissur. The medical college was officially established in 2002 and received MCI recognition in 2003. Affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC), JMMCRI offers 100 MBBS seats, 54 postgraduate seats in 16 specialties, and super-specialty DM courses. The college is attached to the renowned Jubilee Mission Hospital — a 1,750-bedded multi-specialty teaching hospital with 300 ICU beds, 22 operation theatres, and over 1,654 daily outpatients. Consistently ranked as the top medical school in Kerala under KUHS for MBBS exam performance, JMMCRI is especially celebrated for the Charles Pinto Centre (cleft lip and palate), Jubilee Hrudhayalaya (cardiac centre with 300 dedicated beds), and its DSIR-recognised Jubilee Centre for Medical Research (JCMR).
