Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Pharmacy (MSIP), established in 2007, is a government-funded pharmacy institute in Janakpuri, West Delhi. Established by the Government of NCT of Delhi under DTTE, MSIP is affiliated to GGSIPU and approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). It offers B.Pharm (Bachelor of Pharmacy) at extremely affordable government fees. MSIP is the pharmacy arm of the Maharaja Surajmal educational complex in Janakpuri (which also includes MSI and MSIT). As a government pharmacy college, MSIP offers B.Pharm at approximately INR 45,000-50,000 per year for Delhi domicile – significantly cheaper than private pharmacy colleges charging INR 1-2 lakhs per year. The B.Pharm program covers pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutics, pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical analysis, hospital pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, and pharmaceutical management. The campus features pharmaceutical labs for drug formulation, quality control, pharmacology experiments, and pharmaceutical chemistry synthesis. A herbal garden provides hands-on exposure to medicinal plants. Graduates find employment in pharmaceutical companies (R&D, production, quality control, regulatory affairs), hospitals (clinical pharmacist), community pharmacies, drug regulatory bodies, and pharmaceutical marketing. Many pursue M.Pharm through GPAT or prepare for government pharmacist posts. The government funding ensures quality education at minimal cost.
