About Moti Lal Nehru Medical College, Allahabad
Moti Lal Nehru Medical College (MLNMC), Prayagraj (Allahabad), is one of the most prestigious government medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh, established in 1961. Named after eminent freedom fighter Pandit Motilal Nehru, MLNMC is affiliated with Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU), Lucknow (previously KGMU), and recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The 101.24-acre lush green campus houses the main medical college building, SRN (Sir Sunder Lal Ramnarain) Hospital — a 1,400-bed multi-specialty tertiary care hospital with 5,500+ daily outpatients — doctors' and residents' quarters, and boys and girls hostels. MLNMC offers 200 MBBS seats, 127 PG seats (MD/MS in 20 disciplines + PG Diploma), DM/MCh super-specialty (1 seat), and various paramedical programmes.
