Shri M. P. Shah Government Medical College (MPSMC), Jamnagar was established in 1955. The foundation stone was laid in January 1954 by Shri Digvijay Singh. It is one of the oldest government medical colleges in Gujarat, affiliated with Saurashtra University, Rajkot, and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
MP Shah Medical College currently offers 250 MBBS seats annually. All seats are merit-based and filled through NEET-UG scores via ACPUGMEC (Gujarat state counselling) for state quota seats and MCC counselling for All India Quota seats. There are no management quota or NRI quota seats.
The MBBS course fee at MP Shah Medical College is highly subsidized as it is a government institution.
