Nandkumar Singh Chauhan Government Medical College (GMC Khandwa), situated in Khandwa — a city flanked by the Narmada River and Satpura hill range in Madhya Pradesh — is one of seven new medical colleges established in 2017–18 under the MP Government's drive to expand medical education. It was renamed in August 2021 in honour of the late Shri Nandkumar Singh Chauhan, MLA Khandwa. Affiliated with Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University (MPMSU), Jabalpur, and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC), the college operates on a lush green 34-acre campus and offers 120 MBBS seats annually along with 6 MD/MS postgraduate courses. The campus features air-conditioned, soundproof lecture theatres with video conferencing for telemedicine, a 34-acre landscaped green campus described as one of the best medical complexes in MP, clinical and diagnostic labs, a central library with digital resources, and hostels with a one-time deposit of ₹10,000. The attached District Hospital Khandwa (being upgraded to 600 beds from 300) serves as the teaching hospital with tertiary care services including 24x7 emergency, eye bank, blood bank, burn treatment, and pharmacy.

In August 2021, it was renamed as 'Nandkumar Singh Chauhan Government Medical College, Khandwa' in honour of the late Shri Nandkumar Singh Chauhan, who served as MLA from Khandwa.
