Admission to all four NBS programmes runs through a single five-stage process: an online application at nbs.edu.in or applications.nbs.edu.in; an entrance qualification via NBSAT or an accepted national test; a short psychometric assessment covering aptitude, personality traits, creativity and ethical reasoning; an online one-on-one personal interview with the NBS selection panel; and a final admission offer confirmed on fee payment and document verification. The institute states explicitly that its selection methodology 'goes beyond ranks'.

Narayana Business School, Ahmedabad Admissions
Below is the complete admission information including eligible exams, eligibility criteria, admission process, and important notes for each program offered.
Required Entrance Exams
NBSAT (Narayana Business School Aptitude Test - the institute's own online, AI-proctored holistic entrance test), or a valid score in CAT / XAT / CMAT / NMAT / SNAP. NBSAT becomes mandatory for any applicant whose national-test score falls below the published direct-admission thresholds.
Admissions at NBS Ahmedabad
NBS accepts CAT, XAT, CMAT, NMAT and SNAP scores and publishes direct-admission thresholds of CAT 75 percentile, XAT 70 percentile, CMAT 80 percentile and NMAT 180. Applicants below any of these thresholds, or without a national test score, must sit the NBSAT - the institute's own online, AI-proctored aptitude test, which it markets as India's first holistic management entrance exam. NBSAT assesses quantitative ability and data interpretation, logical and analytical reasoning, communication and language proficiency, business and economic awareness, creativity and innovation, and decision-making and ethical reasoning.
Eligibility is a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university, with final-year students admitted provisionally pending final results. The upper age limit is 28 years and work experience is not required, though it is treated as an advantage. PGDM Quantitative Finance and PGDM Data Science & Business Analytics carry additional programme-specific eligibility conditions - third-party reporting suggests a Mathematics or Statistics background at Class 12 or undergraduate level - which should be confirmed with admissions. The official pages do not state a minimum graduation percentage, though third-party portals variously report 50% or 60%.
Applications for the 2026-28 batch opened on 22 September 2025, with a CMAT 2026 route closing on 9 March; the site simultaneously advertises applications for the Class of 2027-29, so more than one intake cycle is open at any given time. Third-party portals report a non-refundable application fee of INR 2,000, which is not stated on official pages. The refund policy follows AICTE guidelines: cancellation before batch commencement or before 31 July, whichever is earlier, attracts a processing deduction of INR 1,000, with refunds credited by mid-October of the financial year.
