National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Gorakhpur Centre, formerly known as the Centre for Electronics Design and Technology of India (CEDTI), was established in June 1989. It is an Autonomous Scientific Society functioning under the administrative control of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. Located on the campus of Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT), Gorakhpur, the institute has grown into one of the most respected technology education and training centres in Uttar Pradesh. NIELIT Gorakhpur offers a comprehensive range of programmes spanning undergraduate B.Tech degrees, postgraduate M.Tech degrees, diploma courses, certificate courses, and short-term industry training programmes. The M.Tech programmes are offered in specializations including VLSI and Embedded Systems Design, and Electronics and Communication, with an intake of 18 seats each. The institute also offers O-level, A-level, B-level, and C-level accredited IT literacy courses which are nationally and internationally recognized. Admissions to B.Tech programmes at NIELIT Gorakhpur are done through JEE Main scores followed by UPTAC counselling. M.Tech admissions are conducted based on GATE scores.
