National Institute of Technology Durgapur (NIT Durgapur or NIT DGP) is one of India's premier technical institutions, established in 1960 by the Government of India as an Institute of National Importance. Located in the industrial city of Durgapur in West Bengal, the institute was originally set up as a Regional Engineering College and was upgraded to NIT status with deemed university privileges. Branch-wise, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering achieved 93% placement, Electrical Engineering 90%, and CSE 87%.
