National Institute of Technology Hamirpur (NIT Hamirpur or NITH) is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology in India, established on 7 August 1986 as a Regional Engineering College through a joint enterprise of the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh. Initially starting with only two departments — Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering — the institute was upgraded to NIT status on 26 June 2002 and declared an Institute of National Importance under the NIT Act 2007. CSE recorded 100% placement with the highest package of Rs 58 LPA, while Mechanical Engineering recorded the Rs 2.05 CPA package. Material Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering (97.96%), and Architecture (100%) also had outstanding placement rates.
