National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand (NIT Uttarakhand or NIT UK) was established in 2010 as one of the ten new NITs. Located in Srinagar Garhwal, a picturesque town in the Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, the institute is an autonomous Institute of National Importance recognized by UGC and approved by AICTE. NIT Uttarakhand offers 24 courses across engineering and science streams at UG, PG, and PhD levels. B.Tech specializations include Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering. M.Tech and PhD programmes are also available. Admissions follow standard NIT processes: JEE Main + JoSAA for B.Tech, GATE + CCMT for M.Tech. The institute provides fee waivers for SC/ST/PwD students and economically backward students as per NIT norms. NIT Uttarakhand placements 2025 recorded highest package of INR 12.5 LPA. Top recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, L&T, and other IT and core engineering companies. The institute is developing its placement ecosystem steadily. The campus is situated in the scenic Garhwal Himalayas along the banks of the Alaknanda River, providing a serene environment. The annual technical fest is called Cliffesto. Facilities include classrooms, laboratories, library, hostels, sports grounds, and basic amenities. The institute is working towards developing its permanent infrastructure.
