National Institute of Technology Warangal (NIT Warangal or NITW) is one of India's most prestigious technical institutions, recognised as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. Established in 1959 as the first Regional Engineering College (REC) in the country, NIT Warangal holds the distinction of being the pioneer among the chain of 31 NITs in India.
