About Netaji Subhas University of Technology (East Campus)
Netaji Subhas University of Technology (East Campus), popularly known as NSUT East Campus, is a prestigious government engineering institution located in Geeta Colony, East Delhi. Established in 2001 by the Government of NCT of Delhi, the campus was originally known as the Ambedkar Institute of Advanced Communication Technologies and Research (AIACTR), and later as Ambedkar Institute of Technology (AIT). Following the elevation of NSIT to university status as NSUT in 2018, AIACTR was formally integrated as the East Campus of Netaji Subhas University of Technology. The campus continues to maintain its own dedicated website at aiactr.ac.in and operates as a semi-autonomous academic unit under the NSUT banner. Spread over approximately 7.8 acres in the East Delhi locality of Geeta Colony, the campus is compact yet modern in its academic infrastructure. Despite its smaller footprint compared to the 145-acre Dwarka main campus, NSUT East Campus offers a focused and industry-oriented academic environment. The campus is well-connected by metro and public transport, with Shastri Park Metro Station (Red Line) and Nirman Vihar / Laxmi Nagar Stations (Blue Line) being the nearest metro access points, followed by a short auto or bus ride to Jheel Chowk. NSUT East Campus offers B.Tech programmes in five major specialisations: Computer Science and Engineering – Internet of Things (CSE-IoT), Electronics and Communication Engineering – Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (ECE-AIML), Computer Science and Engineering – Artificial Intelligence (CSE-AI), Electronics and Communication Engineering – Advanced Communication Technologies (ECE-ACT), and Mechanical Engineering – Advanced Manufacturing Technology (ME-AMT). These programmes are aligned with emerging technology domains and reflect the evolution of the campus from its roots in communication engineering towards broader, future-ready disciplines. At the postgraduate level, the campus offers five M.Tech specialisations covering areas including Digital Communication, VLSI Design, Computer Science, and Advanced Manufacturing. Admissions to all B.Tech programmes are conducted through the Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) Delhi process, based on JEE Main scores. Approximately 85% of seats are reserved for candidates from the Delhi region, with the remaining 15% open to candidates from outside Delhi. For M.Tech programmes, admission is through CCMT counselling using GATE scores, with overall GATE cutoffs in the range of INR 252–315 depending on the specialisation. The B.Tech tuition fee at NSUT East Campus is INR 38,000 per year, which is considerably lower than private engineering colleges and comparable to other government NSUT campuses. The total approximate cost for four years, including all government and non-government charges, is around INR 2.67–3.54 Lakhs. For M.Tech programmes, annual fees range from INR 82,500 to INR 84,500 per year. Placement at NSUT East Campus benefits from the combined placement infrastructure of all NSUT campuses. The Training and Placement Cell conducts joint campus drives across the Main, East, and West campuses, with top recruiters including Samsung, Adobe, Visa, American Express, EY, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Cisco, Infosys, TCS, and Wipro visiting annually. As per 2024-25 data, the highest package offered across NSUT (all campuses) stood at INR 65 LPA (by Apple), the average package for NSUT East Campus was approximately INR 17.93 LPA, and the median package was INR 16 LPA. The campus is equipped with a library, modern computing labs, communication and electronics laboratories, a computer centre, and sports grounds. Students participate actively in technical and cultural societies. Technical fests and intra-campus events are held annually. NSUT East Campus students benefit from the NSUT brand value, which is recognised nationally by top MNCs, government bodies, and research institutions. While dedicated on-campus hostel facilities are not available at NSUT East Campus, students are accommodated in government-arranged PG facilities or shared accommodation in the surrounding Geeta Colony and East Delhi areas. Transportation arrangements to the campus are also facilitated for outstation students. The campus has a canteen, health centre, Wi-Fi access in academic buildings, and ATM facilities.
