Pabitra Mohan Pradhan Medical College and Hospital (PMPMCH), previously known as the Mahanadi Institute of Medical Science and Research, is a newly established Government medical college located in Talcher, Angul District, Odisha. The college is named after Pabitra Mohan Pradhan, a revered personality from the region, and represents a major milestone in the expansion of medical education in the mineral-rich Talcher–Angul belt of Odisha. The National Medical Commission (NMC) approved 100 MBBS seats for PMPMCH, and the academic session commenced from 2025-26. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi welcomed this approval, noting that with PMPMCH and the new Phulbani Government Medical College together, Odisha's total MBBS seats have risen from 2,450 to 2,650. Talcher is a major coal-mining and industrial town in Angul District, located approximately 120 km from Bhubaneswar.
