Palakkad Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Walayar, is a private medical college situated on the Palakkad–Coimbatore National Highway (NH 544) in the scenic border town of Walayar, Palakkad district, Kerala. Established in 2014 and affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS), PIMS has received NMC Letter of Permission (LOP) for 150 MBBS seats. Managed by the Palakkad Institute of Medical Sciences Trust (under the SASN / Agastya Super Speciality Hospitals network), the institution is strategically located to serve the underserved border region of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The approximate NEET 2024 closing score for PIMS under Kerala State Quota (SM General) was around 480 marks. The cutoff varies widely by round (reported range 144–686 across all categories and rounds). Management quota cutoff was lower. Verify exact data at cee.kerala.gov.in.

PIMS is attached to a 300-bedded multi-specialty teaching hospital with up-to-date surgical and diagnostic services, advanced emergency care, and qualified faculty and staff. The hospital is part of the SASN / Agastya Super Speciality Hospitals network which operates across 24+ locations nationally, providing a broad clinical training ecosystem.
