Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Adilabad, established in 2008 by the Government of Telangana (inaugurated by the Chief Minister), is a government medical institution located on a 53.5-acre campus alongside National Highway 7 (NH-7) in Adilabad, the northernmost district of Telangana. RIMS Adilabad serves as the primary source of quality medical education and healthcare for the predominantly tribal, rural, and economically backward population of Adilabad, Mancherial, Kumram Bheem, and surrounding districts. Affiliated with KNRUHS and recognised by NMC, RIMS offers 120–125 MBBS seats annually and PG MD/MS courses in available departments. The annual MBBS tuition fee is approximately ₹10,000 — one of the most affordable in India. The campus has spacious classrooms, lecture halls (150-seat capacity), demonstration room, examination hall, separate hostels for boys and girls, and departmental museums. The attached teaching hospital (formerly a secondary-level District Hospital, now upgraded) has 1,200+ outpatients daily, 24x7 emergency, ICU, MICU, SICU, RICU, PICU, NICU, and full clinical departments. Library: 1,600 sq. m., 5,500 textbooks + 1,500 reference books, 130 national + 54 international journals, 25 internet-enabled computers.
