Rajiv Lochan Ayurved Medical College and Hospital (RLAMCH) is the first private Ayurveda medical college established in the state of Chhattisgarh, founded in 2002 by Yuva Utthan Samiti (registered under the Firms and Societies Registration Act, 1973). The college is named after Lord Rajiv Lochan, a form of Lord Vishnu whose temple is located on the banks of the Mahanadi River in the spiritual city of Rajim, Chhattisgarh. The institution is situated in Village Chandkhuri, District Durg, approximately 9 kilometres from Durg Railway Station along the Durg-Gunderdehi State Highway. Spread over 7 acres of land, the campus houses a college building, an attached hospital, pharmacy, hostels, a central laboratory, and an auditorium, all developed in accordance with the standards set by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM), now succeeded by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), under which the college holds Institute ID AYU0018. A distinctive 2-acre herbal garden within the campus houses a rich collection of medicinal plants and trees, supporting Dravyaguna education and Ayurvedic research. The college is affiliated to Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Health Sciences and AYUSH University of Chhattisgarh, Raipur, and offers fourteen academic departments spanning the full breadth of classical Ayurvedic disciplines, including Samhita Siddhanta, Kriya Sharir, Rachana Sharir, Dravyaguna, Rasa Shastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana, Agad Tantra, Rog Nidan & Vikriti Vigyan, Swasthavritta & Yoga, Prasuti Tantra & Stree Roga, Shalya Tantra, Shalakya Tantra, Kayachikitsa, Kaumarbhritya, and Panchakarma. The attached Rajiv Lochan Hospital is a fully functional Ayurvedic teaching hospital offering OPD, IPD, Operation Theatre, Path/Central Lab, X-Ray, Physiotherapy, Panchakarma, Ksharasutra, Delivery, ECG, and USG services, providing students extensive clinical exposure across all departments. The college regularly conducts academic events such as White Coat Ceremonies, World Health Day, Tuberculosis Day, World Oral Health Day, and World Kidney Day celebrations as part of its holistic medical education approach.
