Lokmata Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Rajkiya Engineering College, Mainpuri (formerly Rajkiya Engineering College, Mainpuri – RECM) is a prestigious government engineering institution established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 2015. The college was renamed in honour of Lokmata Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar, the revered Maratha queen and administrator known for her commitment to public welfare and infrastructure development. Located on the NH84 Road, Nauner, Bhongoan–Mainpuri–Shikohabad Road, the college is affiliated with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow, and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The College Code is 840. The college embarked on its journey with a single branch — Civil Engineering — and has since expanded substantially to include Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, and Information Technology. The institute also functions as a research centre offering Ph.D. programmes in various disciplines. A newly established Incubation Centre further supports entrepreneurship and startup culture among students. The academic departments are well-equipped with modern laboratories and a competent faculty body. The Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities provides a strong foundation for first-year engineering students. The Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology departments are equipped with advanced computing laboratories. The Civil Engineering department has a collaboration with Bentley Organisation for STAAD PRO, STAAD Foundation, and MX Road software skills. REC Mainpuri's Training and Placement Cell (TPC) is highly active, guided by Training and Placement Officer Mr. Kushal Saxena. In 2024-25, companies such as Rinex Technologies, SPM Autocomp Indore, Academor, NXT Sync Private Limited, Hightech Next Engineering, Yazaki India Pvt Ltd, Kodnest, and many others conducted campus drives. An alumnus was also selected at BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre) in 2025. The campus provides hostel accommodation for students, a digital library, computer centre, workshops, activity centre, canteen, digital studio, and incubation centre. Admissions to B.Tech are processed through UPTAC (UP Technical Admission Counselling) based on JEE Main scores. Students from SC/ST and economically weaker sections can avail the Fee Waiver (FW) scheme, which exempts them from paying the tuition fee of Rs. 40,000 per year.
