RK University Ayurvedic College and Hospital (RKU ACH), Rajkot, was established in 2017 with the approval of the Government of Gujarat State and the Ministry of AYUSH, New Delhi. As a constituent college of RK University, the first private university in the Saurashtra region, the institute offers modern techniques of learning combined with the traditional Indian System of Medicine (Ayurveda), aiming to meet national and global needs in the Ayurveda sector. The college offers the undergraduate Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) programme, preparing graduates with fundamental knowledge across Ayurveda subjects through practical, hands-on learning. The college is affiliated to Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar, and recognized by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM). Each academic department is well-equipped with modern instruments, models, charts, and chemicals to support comprehensive practical training. The institute regularly organizes medical camps, seminars, and health awareness programs, and facilitates interaction with globally known Ayurveda personalities. RKU ACH houses one of the most modern libraries in the Gujarat region dedicated to Ayurveda resources, along with a Central Research Lab supporting active student and faculty research. The attached hospital diagnoses and treats conditions through an Ayurvedic lens, following classical Ayurveda Siddhantas, addressing conditions such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, migraine, depression, sciatica, insomnia, and hypothyroidism, alongside Panchakarma detoxification therapies, Yogasana, Pranayama, and Physiotherapy treatments, with equal emphasis on Dinacharya (daily regimen) and Ritucharya (seasonal regimen) lifestyle counselling for disease prevention.
