Admission Process Overview

Below is the complete admission information including eligible exams, eligibility criteria, admission process, and important notes for each program offered.

Required Entrance Exams

KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test)

Eligibility Criteria
10+2/PUC with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics minimum 45% aggregate (40% for SC/ST/Cat-1). Karnataka domicile required for KCET government quota.
Admission Process
Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) conducts online counselling in multiple rounds based on KCET rank. Students select colleges and branches in order of preference. Seat allotment is purely merit-based on KCET rank. 50% of total seats are filled through this process.

Important Notice

KCET is the primary admission route for Karnataka domicile students. Government quota fees are the most affordable. Document verification at designated KEA centres is mandatory after seat allotment.

Required Entrance Exams

COMEDK UGET (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka)

Eligibility Criteria
10+2/PUC with PCM minimum 45% (40% SC/ST). Open to students from all Indian states.
Admission Process
COMEDK conducts its own entrance exam and online counselling. 20% of seats are filled through COMEDK. All-India students can access Bangalore engineering colleges through this route.

Important Notice

COMEDK is the best route for non-Karnataka students to secure merit-based seats at VTU colleges in Bangalore. Fee is higher than KCET government quota but lower than management quota.

Required Entrance Exams

Management Quota / NRI Quota – Direct Admission

Eligibility Criteria
10+2/PUC with PCM minimum 45% aggregate.
Admission Process
Direct admission at the institute level. No entrance exam rank required but PCM eligibility mandatory. Higher fee structure. Approximately 30% of seats.

Important Notice

Management quota is the fallback option for students who don't secure KCET/COMEDK seats at preferred colleges. Fees are significantly higher. NRI quota has separate fee structure (typically in USD).
