The college was renamed to honour former Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. SABVMCRI is affiliated with RGUHS, Bengaluru, and approved by NMC for 150 MBBS seats and MD/MS postgraduate courses in select specialties, with additional seats being phased in. 100% merit-based admissions — no Management or NRI quota — via KEA (State Quota, 85%) and MCC (AIQ, 15%).
