About University School of Automation and Robotics, GGSIPU
University School of Automation and Robotics (USAR), established in 2021, is one of GGSIPU's newest and most innovative constituent engineering schools. Located at GGSIPU's East Delhi Campus (EDC), Surajmal Vihar, Shahdara, Delhi-110032, USAR is uniquely positioned at the intersection of automation, robotics, artificial intelligence, data science, and the Internet of Things. It offers B.Tech+M.Tech Dual Degree programs in four cutting-edge specializations: Automation & Robotics, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AIML), Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (AIDS), and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) — each with 132 seats, totalling 528 seats. USAR is home to specialized labs including the Robotics Lab, IoT Lab, Mechanics Lab, Data Science & AI Lab, Software Engineering Lab, and Design Innovation Studio. Faculty members are qualified IIT graduates with registered patents and strong industry experience. The student-to-faculty ratio of ~3:60 (3 teachers per 60 students) enables personalised learning. A CGPA of 7+ is sufficient for placement; the first batch is graduating in 2025, with pre-placement interactions with Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, IBM, and Cvent. The East Campus started operations in 2021 and is home to USAR and the University School of Design & Innovation (USDI). It has modern facilities including Robotics Lab, IoT Lab, AI Lab, and Design Innovation Studio.
USAR offers 4 B.Tech+M.Tech (Dual Degree, 6 years) programs: (1) Automation & Robotics – 132 seats, (2) Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AIML) – 132 seats, (3) Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (AIDS) – 132 seats, (4) Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) – 132 seats. Total intake: 528 seats. A new M.Tech in Robotics & AI (21 seats) launches in 2026-27.
JEE Main 2024 General category closing ranks at USAR (Delhi Home State): Automation & Robotics ~66,275; AIML ~66,821 (Round 2); AIDS ~similar to AIML; IIoT ~1,90,541. For outside Delhi candidates: slightly lower ranks needed (15% seats). All ranks are JEE Main Paper 1.
Total B.Tech (4 years) fee at USAR is Rs. 8.51 lakhs. Year 1 payable: Rs. 1.9 lakhs. Fee increases ~Rs. 20,000 per year. At counselling, Rs. 96,000 is paid first to confirm seat; remaining ~Rs. 79,500 is paid at admission time. Hostel at GGSIPU campus: Rs. 68,500 per year extra.
