Named after Shri Virendra Kumar Sakhlecha — the 10th Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh — the college is affiliated with Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University (MPMSU), Jabalpur, and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The college admits 100 MBBS students annually and is situated on a sprawling 30-acre campus on the Mhow-Naseerabad Road in Kanawati, Neemuch. The academic block is a three-floor structure housing departments of Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, and Community Medicine. The campus also features a completed autopsy building capable of handling two autopsies simultaneously.
