Vivekananda Institute of Technology (VKIT), established in 1997 by the Janatha Education Society (JES), is a prestigious private engineering college situated along the Bangalore-Mysore Highway near Kumbalagodu, Kengeri, Bengaluru. The Janatha Education Society was registered in 1972 by 12 promoters from diverse backgrounds committed to educational advancement in Karnataka. Named after the great spiritual leader and philosopher Swami Vivekananda, VKIT embodies his ideals of excellence, knowledge, and service to humanity. The institute is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Over more than 27 years of operation, VKIT has grown to accommodate over 1,200+ students across its undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes. This expansive setting provides students with a peaceful atmosphere conducive to focused study and personal growth, while the nearby Kengeri railway station (1.4 km away) and a dedicated fleet of 16 buses connecting all parts of Bengaluru ensure seamless connectivity to the city. The Bangalore-Mysore highway location makes VKIT accessible from multiple directions. Academically, VKIT offers B.E. programmes in six streams: Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. At the postgraduate level, M.Tech programmes are offered in CSE and Digital Communication & Networking. Ph.D. research is supported in ECE, CSE, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics through 4 VTU-approved research centres. The faculty at VKIT comprises highly qualified and dedicated professionals, many of whom hold doctoral degrees and have significant research and industry experience. Based on research data, the highest package offered recently stands at INR 18 LPA, with an average placement package of INR 4.5 LPA and placement rates around 49%.
