About Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre
Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre (VIMS&RC), popularly known as Vydehi Medical College or VIMS Bangalore, is one of Karnataka's premier private medical institutions, founded in 2000 by Dr. D.K. Audikesavulu under the Srinivasa Trust. Located in Nallurahalli, Whitefield, Bengaluru — in the heart of the city's IT corridor — the campus spans 65 acres and provides a serene, green academic environment with easy access to the city. VIMS&RC is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (Government of India), and is listed in the WHO directory. The institution offers the largest MBBS intake among Karnataka's private medical colleges at 250 seats per year, 150 PG (MD/MS/Diploma) seats across 16+ departments, 25 Super-Specialty (DM/MCh) seats, and fellowship and PhD programs. The attached 1,600-bed multi-specialty Vydehi Hospital — one of the largest private teaching hospitals in Bengaluru — is NABH and NABL accredited. VIMS&RC hosts South East Asia's largest advanced medical simulation centre (VASA), and has international tie-ups with the University of Georgia, Athens, USA, and California State University, Los Angeles, as well as a research partnership with Bharat Biotech. The campus is a mini educational city housing Vydehi Institute of Dental Sciences, Vydehi Institute of Nursing Sciences, Vydehi Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Vydehi Institute of Physiotherapy, Vydehi Rehabilitation Centre, Vydehi School of Excellence (kindergarten to Class 10), and Vydehi Special School. Yes. VIMS&RC has tie-ups with the University of Georgia, Athens, USA, and California State University, Los Angeles, for research-oriented work. It also has a research partnership with Bharat Biotech. These MoUs aim to update the research knowledge database and provide international opportunities for students.
